Recovering dropped items

What if when you had to drop items some of them (about 25% of them) stayed so you could come back and pick them up later? What if they stayed there for an hour and other players could pick them up too? That'd be cool, 'cause it's really annoying when you're ten miles from the city and you have to drop a thousand pounds of stuff. lol. I had to do that last night. It was so annoying.
