Is this something that just happens naturally? You select a train ing type and they slowly improve?

Or is there a place to upgrade animals?

If I am not mistaken, the animals need to be in a building for training. Don't take my word on it but I think that is correct.

You have to leave the animals in a city and when you camp they will improve a bit.

Workers are similar. They have experience and training points and they gain experience on the trail (Except for crafters who gain experience by crafting in cities) and they gain training in cities if they are in a city where you've built a school building. (Buildings can be marked as being a school or not.)

This is a test of the system.

Quote:

Strength: 575 [500+75]/500
Speed: 3.642 [4.242+-0.6]/4.242
Agility: 61.75 [61.75+0]/61.75
Endurance: 44.55 [44.55+0]/44.55
Beauty: 47.5 [47.5+0]/47.5
Breedings Left: 10
Hunger: 0/5
Thirst: 0/5
Health: 100/100
Energy: 100/100

This is my Draft Horse Mare.

I will be noting the changes, as she is currently stabled. Smile

Silly me, I didn't mark down how many turns this took. Essh.

Smile Still this is a nice improvement. You can easily train up animals and not worry about it too much. Smile Just stick them in a stable and go trading elsewhere. Awesome. XD

It won't be a huge bonus each time since the expectation is that players may train them for 200x their lifespan camping turns which can add up a lot. However, the training is done proportionally to the base stat of their species in that area so it does increase more for larger stats (like strength) and less for smaller stats (like speed) however the training speeds are subject to change if it appears they are going too fast or too slow. I don't know how it feels yet if it's too fast or slow.

*nods* That why I figured I'd keep track of this one, and perhaps others, to give and get an idea of how fast/slow they were gaining. Smile

Like I said its easy to go "oh wow" they gain! as your traveling its easy to forget ho wmany actual TURNS are going past. me. I look at the miles and go "Oh OhOh only 30 more miles!!! Not realizing its taking me 6 or more turns to go that 30 miles. LOL

Click on the camel icon in the top menu bar. Then click on caravan animals. This should list what animals you have. There SHOULD be a lick to the far right of the name/base stats that allows you to stable an animal.

Be sure you have the right kind of building too. Smile

Also remember that you only get training bonuses when you camp. The reason the gains are so slow is that you're supposed to travel 3 times then camp and you get all kinds of training and crafting and upkeep and such done while camping. But, later on it's possible that people will spend much more time camping when they get more crafters and gatherers and want to train animals up more so I tried to take that into consideration and made the training go slower.
