So, with my adventures with Giraffes, I got to thinking. The idea behind making them items to be carried makes sense. Like say, tigers in wheeled cages.
That I don't have an issue with at all.
But how about this set of ideas.
If you don't have a cart ( or a cage ) to carry such animals, then yuo can'tt ake them with you. They'd have to be dropped.
Also, instead of being discarded..., couldn't some of the animals dropped be left to be hunted? Or used to attack unwary travelers? ( That's just too funny to pass up ).
Bandits heck. I'd poop myself if I saw a tiger on the trail. hehe.
This could prove useful for people who are on the trial, spot an animal and they can choose to "hunt" it for skins.., or "capture it" for sale.
Just a thought.
Additionally, why not have a food and water need when you pick up animals to sell. Instead of making some of them ( like Giraffes ) a weight to be carried, why not have them as additional animals in the caravan ( like how on quests you can take workers that aren't actually YOURS ).
Thoughts to ponder.

If you got an animal from bandits wouldn't it already be in a cage?
The only thing I wonder about is why bandits would be carrying all those great things with them. How many people just carry entertaining dancers into battle with them? I'm not complaining because they are easy to make money off of, but its just odd about what stuff they carry with them. |

Actually, I really like your idea, Dark Hart. If bandits leave animals, they weren't carrying them with their two hands, or having them trail peacefully beside them. The wheeled cages would be a great idea.
I also like the idea of the dropping=tiger on trail. Having a hunt/capture option would be awesome.
But I think it should go further. I know, everyone's starting to think "Jeez, shut UP Ris!!" but anyway....It'd be cool if we just met animals on the trail. Some (like tigers) could be hunted for skins, some could just be captured for sale, and some (like a camel or something) could be captured for a caravan animal.
Just some food for thought. |

This would all be awesome, but I have to say, the first time I saw "You have looted: 1 Tigers" My first thought (well, second, after WTF?!) was please tell me you can put stuff on it. Because that would be so cool. But whatever you put on them, they would just eat. It would be awesome.
That was totally irrelevant.
I like the idea of wild tigers by the roadside to hunt or capture, though. Carrying them on mules is kind of a hassle because all of a sudden you're 300 pounds overloaded, and you're just sitting there going how the HELL did they load a live tiger onto a mule? |

Tell you what though, They sell for a pretty penny!!
XD
It'd be awesome to have a "zoo" building too, or something. It would make mor sense as taking them to Rome would give you BooKu Bucks! Yeah Coluseums! (sp)
But That would be a great building/worker type. The guy who does teh Galdiators contracts, who also buys/sells wild animals.
I'm sure to keep the supply/demand up, they should "be killed" or go away. Havign a zoo-like building and training some of them for such places might bring larger sums of money ( and be very dangerous!)
hehe I'm so loving this game. |

I will do something with animals eventually but it might not be a for a while. Maybe making the animals be luxuries with an animal subtype and then requiring an animal_cage for each animal at a given location or else you can't place them there. But it may be a while and I want to think about it a bit to see what seems good. |
