I bought 100 bolts of cotton cloth on the item market from Crimson Terror. It was listed as being in Louyang (where I have storage space for it), but it was delivered directly to my caravan on a road between Louyang and Ye.
Is that the intended outcome? Seems like a great way to get around having to schlep the stuff using animals. |

Yes it's intended since I didn't want to have items in transit like with animals and workers. I guess the flip side is that if you didn't have room for it, you would overburden your animals.
If we didn't do this and you bought items you would have to go to the city to pick them up, but where would they be kept?
I can see a problem with people putting things up for auction then ending their own auction to get a transfered item, or people colluding to move items around, but I am not sure what the effect should be if we don't do this. How should items be transferred then? Do you have to go to the city to bid? If you bid and aren't there are they stored and do they go away?
I guess I could have them "Walk" to your caravan like workers and such do after many turns. That might be a better idea I will think about. |

Since this game features travel time and transporting goods as a major challenge of the game, it won't be long before people are cooperating to transport goods magically from one end of the map to the other, maximizing their profits and minimizing transport costs (turns, capital for animals, food and water, upkeep). It doesn't even take any turns to move goods this way.
Some people will do the travel anyway because they like doing it. But they will not be able to compete with those who use the markets to do trading instantly.
Some games justify a fee for placing items on the market to pay for auction house storage space. Since this game seems to be about transport and trade (and crafting), make the players go to the city to pick up the goods put up for sale there. Just my IMHO. |

| You can't put luxuries on the marketplace so you can't transport them that way, so you still need to move them from city to city. Also you have to move your workers to where you have materals. Don't worry you still need to travel to do most stuff in this game. |

Wow I forgot that you couldn't put luxuries up. Sometimes I lose track of everything. |

| Ah, no luxuries, yep, that would make it better. |
