Not positive..I think the bearers are the Amazons, Bedouins & Sherpas. I think they just add to your caravan load carrying total when you have one with you. I know when I transported/escorted an Amazon, it said I had a bearer with me. Smile
You equip them just like your other workers. They also give help in their area's of expertise ie: Bedouins give help when crossing loose sandy trails.
